This weekend I photographed a dog called Jagger. He had bags of character and with a little help from his owners Ollie and Emma, I got some really pleasing shots. After a beautiful sunny winters day on Saturday, I had hoped for the same on Sunday. Clearly this was not to be and as we approached our destination for the shoot rain began to fall. This was coupled with the original beach we hoped to shoot on being completely covered at high tide (there’s no substitute for good planning I say!). After this setback we reached the second target of Gyllyngvase beach in Falmouth. We first moved to a quiet area among some rocks to get some more static portraits. The rain subsided and some rare flashes of sunshine broke through. We were not to see this strange phenomenon for the rest of the day it was fortunate we were there at this point. After this we moved to the main beach area. This was awash with activity and lots of dogs were moving through. Jagger loves to run and meet all the dogs around so we used this to our advantage. After he chased after a dog we would then call him back, on this route I was able to capture a lot of great facial expressions.
